Conspiracy involved armed drug trafficking and large quantities of high purity methamphetamine

LONDON, KY – The U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Kentucky is reporting that a Somerset, Ky., man, Dennie Smith, 50, was sentenced to 217 months on Monday, by U.S. District Judge Robert Wier, for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.  Smith is the last of six defendants sentenced for their roles in the conspiracy.

OREGON - A months-long investigation by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Dangerous Drugs Team resulted in one of the largest illegal fentanyl seizures in state history, and the largest seizure in agency history.

JOSEPHINE COUNTY, OR - The Oregon State Police (OSP) is reporting that on Friday, December 8, 2023, at approximately 5:54 p.m., OSP responded to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Interstate 5 southbound near milepost 75 in Josephine County near Wolf Creek. 

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Nate Bishop arrested Donald Shane Johnson age 35 of London on Friday evening December 8, 2023 at approximately 6:47 PM.

BAKER COUNTY, OR - The Oregon State Police (OSP) is reporting that on Friday, December 8, 2023, at approximately 6:57 a.m., OSP responded to a single-vehicle crash on I-84 east near milepost 314 in Baker County.
