VICTIM IDENTIFIED IN FATAL CRASH ON KENTUCKY 490 NORTH OF LONDON IN LAUREL COUNTY

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brad Mink along with London City Police Lt. Ryan Jackson who are members of the London-Laurel County Crash Reconstruction team are investigating a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic fatality which occurred on KY 490 approximately 5 miles north of London on Monday night June 17, 2024 at approximately 10:55 PM.

LSO logo BLACKandGOLD John Root 200The investigative team reports that apparently a pedestrian entered the roadway into the path of a northbound white colored Honda Accord and was struck by the vehicle.

The victim is identified as: George E. Lewis age 57 of East Bernstadt, KY.

George E. Lewis was transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Assisting at the scene for the Laurel County Sheriff's office were: Laurel Sheriff's shift Sgt. Travis Napier, Deputy Nate Bishop, and Deputy Joe Breeding.

Also assisting were: East Bernstadt Fire Department, London Laurel Rescue Squad, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, and the Laurel County Coroner's Office.
