London, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Reed along with Detective Robert Reed with assistance from Crash Reconstructionist Deputy Brad Mink investigated a single traffic fatality which occurred on Tuesday afternoon June 18, 2024 at approximately 4:04 PM on Nineva Road approximately 6 miles east of London.
Investigating deputies report that apparently a four wheeler traveling on the roadway and having two male juvenile occupants (ages 14 and 13) ran off the roadway and lost control resulting in fatal injuries to the 14 year old occupant.
The 14 year old was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Laurel County Coroner’s Office. The 13 year old occupant was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Assisting deputies at the scene were: Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, London Laurel Rescue Squad, McWhorter Volunteer Fire Department, and the Laurel County Coroner's Office. Investigation is continuing.
