Mexican National Illegally Residing in Lancaster, KY Sentenced to 30 Years for Production of Child Pornography

LEXINGTON, KY – The U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Kentucky is reporting that a Mexican national, illegally residing in Lancaster, Ky., Ernesto Mendez-Lopez, 37, was sentenced on Monday, to 30 years in federal prison, by Chief U.S. District Judge Danny Reeves, for production of child pornography.

Shier, IV, announced Monday that the federal government has reached an agreement with the Big Sandy Regional Jail Authority, which operates the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center (BSRDC), to ensure that people with opioid use disorder (OUD) receive medically appropriate treatment with any FDA-approved medication for OUD, as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

HENDERSON COUNTY, TN – An undercover joint operation targeting illicit drug sales in Henderson County and surrounding counties has resulted in indictments and arrests.  Operation Holiday Surprise, led by the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, began in February of 2022 as a continuation of Operation Big Red Ice I and II, which resulted in 51 drug-related indictments.
