BARBOURVILLE, KY (April 29, 2020) - The Knox County Sheriff's Department is reporting that:  Early Monday morning April 27, 2020 just after midnight, Deputy Bobby Jones of the Knox County Sheriff's Department was conducting routine patrol when he observed a 2015 Kia driven by 67 year old Jana Couch of Barbourville cross the center line on KY 11 South. Deputy Jones initiated a traffic stop to conduct a Roadside Impairment investigation.

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy James Fox along with Sgt. John Inman and Deputy Landry Collett arrested Hart Rodney Merida age 18 of East Bernstadt early Tuesday morning April 28, 2020 at approximately 5:01 AM.

Senator McConnell secured funding for and urged DOD to move forward with the important project to benefit military families

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has announced that the U.S. Department of Defense agreed to his request to move forward on construction of the Fort Campbell Middle School. In a Fiscal Year 2019 appropriations bill, Senator McConnell secured nearly $63 million for construction of the school. The funding was later delayed. Senator McConnell consistently pressed Secretary of Defense Mark Esper on the importance of this project to families of servicemembers stationed at Ft. Campbell and urged him to restore the funding.
