Arrest at Crash Scene on Happy Hollow Road in Southern Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Jamie Etherton along with Sgt. Greg Poynter and Deputy Travis Napier arrested Katherine Rae Moore age 48 of Lily on Monday night April 27, 2020 at approximately 8:30 PM.

The arrest occurred off Happy Hollow Road, approximately 4 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a dispute complaint at a residence off Happy Hollow Road stating that a female subject was there out-of-control and intoxicated and attempting to leave in a silver Nissan pickup truck.

While enroute to the scene deputies were advised that the subject had left the residence headed toward South Laurel Road.

Deputies canvassed the area and were able to locate the vehicle off the roadway off Happy Hollow Road wrecked in a wooded area there approximately 1/2 mile from the original location of the original complaint.

Deputies conducted an investigation on the driver and noted a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the driver and deputies also noted the driver was so unsteady on her feet that they had to hold her up to keep her from falling.  The driver was determined to be under the influence

Katherine Rae Moore was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
  • Possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited
  • Resisting arrest

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
