LONDON, KY - The U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Kentucky is reporting that: AWoodbine, Ky., man, Daniel Scott Nantz, 33, was sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday, by U.S. District Judge Robert E. Wier, for the first-degree murder of a federal witness, Geri D. (Bays) Johnson.

PORTLAND, OR - A months long investigation by Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Special Investigations Unit (SIU) resulted in the largest illegal fentanyl seizure in agency history. 

Earmarks include funding for Kentucky River flood mitigation study and housing for East Kentucky flood survivors

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep. Harold "Hal" Rogers has requested $85.85 million in Community Project Funding for critical projects in Southern and Eastern Kentucky. The funding will support 15 projects across Kentucky's Fifth Congressional District, including water and sewer service expansion, transportation improvements, investments in aerospace education and bolstering drug abuse prevention efforts. As we approach the one-year anniversary of the catastrophic flood in East Kentucky on July 28 that took the lives of more than 40 individuals, Congressman Rogers included requests for a flood mitigation study along the Kentucky River and its three forks, as well as construction funds for housing in flooded counties.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, OR - The Oregon State Police (OSP) is reporting that: Two suspects have been arrested and charged in connection to a month old murder case in Douglas County.

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Josh Velasco arrested Joshua Todd Settles age 28 of London on Monday afternoon July 24, 2023 at approximately 4:09 PM.
