LEXINGTON, KY (Monday, December 4, 2023) – United States Attorney Carlton S. Shier, IV, announced Monday that the federal government has reached an agreement with the Big Sandy Regional Jail Authority, which operates the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center (BSRDC), to ensure that people with opioid use disorder (OUD) receive medically appropriate treatment with any FDA-approved medication for OUD, as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

HENDERSON COUNTY, TN – An undercover joint operation targeting illicit drug sales in Henderson County and surrounding counties has resulted in indictments and arrests.  Operation Holiday Surprise, led by the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, began in February of 2022 as a continuation of Operation Big Red Ice I and II, which resulted in 51 drug-related indictments. 

INEZ, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that KSP Post 9, Pikeville received a call from Martin County 911 dispatch on December 1, 2023 at 8:36 A.M. requesting assistance on scene of a residential fire in the Inez community.

MORGANFIELD, KY - On Friday, December 1, 2023 the Kentucky State Police (KSP) reported that KSP Post 16, Henderson received a call from Union County Dispatch at around 4:00 p.m. of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of the U.S. 60 Bypass and KY 56 in Morganfield.
