INEZ, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that KSP Post 9, Pikeville received a call from Martin County 911 dispatch on December 1, 2023 at 8:36 A.M. requesting assistance on scene of a residential fire in the Inez community.
Investigators were dispatched to the house fire located on Tug River Road in the Inez community of Martin County.
The preliminary investigation revealed that emergency personnel located two juveniles deceased inside the residence.
The juvenile’s bodies were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The cause of the fire and death is under investigation. No foul play is suspected.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Detective Joseph Coleman.
Detective Coleman was assisted on scene by Kentucky State Police Post 9 personnel, Inez Volunteer Fire Department, Turkey Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Warfield Volunteer Fire Department and Patriot Ambulance Service.
