Freddy Ray Burns, age 70, of London, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Cora Smith Burns; three siblings, Tommy Joe Burns of Middletown, OH, Paula Davidson of Carrollton, KY, Darrel Wayne Burns of London, KY; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Wilma Cobb; and by his brother, James Gary Burns.
Freddy was a passionate fan of UK sports, cheering on the Wildcats with enthusiasm and pride. Whether it was basketball, football, or any game day event, his love for the team brought joy to those around him and created lasting memories with family and friends.
Above all, Freddy cherished his family. His love and devotion to them were the cornerstone of his life, and he found his greatest happiness in their company. His faith was a guiding light, and as a member of the Baptist faith, Freddy lived with a strong sense of purpose, kindness, and gratitude.
Freddy's legacy of love, loyalty, and faith will forever be held dear by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral services for Freddy Ray Burns will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral. Interment will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 beginning at 5:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
The pallbearers will be Billy Joe Burns, William Burns, Larry Burns, Tim Spurlock, William Couch, Troy Crook, Rocky Curry, Richard Burns and Richard Hammons.
Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Davidson, Roger Davidson, Quinton Davidson, Ryan Davidson and Richard Fields.
The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
