Obituary for John H. Sizemore

John H Sizemore

 

John H. Sizemore, 96, of Big Creek, KY, passed away Thursday, June 13th, at his home.

John was born on December 6, 1922, a son of the late Martha (Hoskins) and Jake Sizemore. He was a deacon and faithful member of the Little Creek United Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Sizemore.

John is survived by four daughters: Edith Eileen Williamson of Corbin, Joyce Asher and husband Gary of Manchester, Janice Bowling of Big Creek, and Joann Salyers and husband Richard of London.

He is also survived by his sister, Lula Napier of Manchester; his grandchildren Riley Jon, Shane, Leah, Natalie, Crystal, Ginger, Eddie Jon, Kendra, Sonya, April, Andrew, Brandon, John Taylor, Richard and Christy; and by 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchild.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his son Kenneth Sizemore, his daughter Barbara Steele, and his brothers and sisters: Robert Sizemore, Clyde Sizemore, Chester Sizemore, Georgia Sizemore, Claire Sizemore, Haley Sizemore, Ellan Childers and Grace Frances Sizemore.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 17th at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY, with Eddie Sizemore officiating. Pallbearers will be: Zack Sizemore, Richard Salyers, Shane Williamson, Logan Williamson, Jagger Bowling, John Tyler Bowling, Brandon Bowling, Ryan Williamson and Ashton Bowling, with honorary pallbearers: Riley John Williamson, Austin Smith, Justice Mills, Kenneth Tyler Sizemore, Jacob Cole Sizemore, Jackson David Sizemore, Parker Salyers, Burial will follow at the Sizemore Cemetery on Big Creek.
