FRAKES, KY - The Bell County Sheriff's Department is reporting that: On Saturday January 25, 2020 Bell County Deputy Frank Foster was requested at the Bell County Forestry Camp after contraband had been discovered in the belongings of an inmate.
Once on scene Deputy Foster made contact with Forestry Camp Officers Brandon Mills and Charles Brock who reported conducting “bed area search” and discovered, in the personal locker of 27-year-old Jalen R. Marshall, a clear plastic bag containing approximately 4.5 grams of what is believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine. The bag was found concealed in a jar of peanut butter.
Marshall was then charged with:
- Promoting contraband – 1st degree
- Trafficking controlled substance – 1st degree, 1st offense - greater than 2 grams (Methamphetamine)
- Buying/possessing drug paraphernalia
Jalen R. Marshall was transported to the Northpoint Correctional Facility.
Marshall was convicted in 2013 for:
- Robbery 1st degree
- Criminal trespass
- Possession of Marijuana
- Trafficking Marijuana
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. He would have been eligible for parole on March 19, 2020.
