LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Zach Strong arrested Venoy Finley, age 32, of East Bernstadt on Saturday afternoon January 25, 2025 at approximately 12:42 PM.
The arrest occurred off KY 1376 approximately 6 miles north of London after Deputy Strong observed this subject make an illegal U-turn at Highway 490 and Highway 1376 while operating a red Honda.
The vehicle failed to stop when Deputy Strong activated his emergency equipment and the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed before finally stopping.
The driver attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended nearby.
Venoy Finley was charged with:
- Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – motor vehicle
- Improper turning
- Failure of owner to maintain required insurance
- Tampering with physical evidence
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
