Attorney General Coleman Announces 10-Year Guilty Plea for Magoffin Co., KY Man’s Sexual Exploitation of Children and Animal Cruelty

FRANKFORT, Ky (Nov. 22, 2024) – On Friday, November 22, 2024, Attorney General Russell Coleman announced  that action from the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit resulted in a 10-year recommended sentence of Kent Simpkins, 43, of Salyersville, for the possession and distribution of child sex abuse material and a sexual crime against an animal. 

Death Investigation after KSP Troopers, Detectives locate Unresponsive Infant over Embankment in Owsley Co., KY

BOONEVILLE, KY – Kentucky State Police (KSP) report that on Friday, November 29, 2024, just before 10:30 A.M., KSP Post 7, Richmond, received a 911 call in reference to a female who had been transported to a local hospital reporting a possible miscarriage. While at the hospital, the couple advised the infant was still at the residence on Lewis Lane in Booneville.
