Mr. Ray Jarvis, age 79 of Manchester, departed this life on Wednesday, March 6, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was born on Thursday, November 8, 1934 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Boyd and Ella Philpot Jarvis. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Horse Creek Holiness Church.
He leaves to mourn his passing his children: Sandra Whitaker, Terry Jarvis, Sue Sizemore, Jerry Jarvis, Randy Jarvis, Darlene Nolan, Paul Jarvis, and Dorothy Riley, 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and these brothers: Roy Jarvis, Johnny Jarvis, and Jimmy Jarvis. Also surviving is his best friend and special son-in-law: Jerry Whitaker, and his special grandson: Jared Wayne Jarvis.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Boyd and Ella Jarvis, his wife: Pauline Jarvis, his daughter: Brenda Hacker, and his son-in-law: Maynard Hacker.
Funeral Services for Mr. Ray Jarvis will be conducted on Sunday, March 9, at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Terry Reed and Rev. Anthony Lovett will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Saturday after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Rominger Funeral Home.
