Bertram Chester Allen, age 90 departed this life on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at his home. He was born on Tuesday, December 5, 1933, in Manchester to Harvey Gene and Polly Jane Tipton Allen. He worked as a tool maker for General Motors and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Shelby Napier Allen, his children: Pollyann Allen, Burt Allen (Pow) and Kimberly Allen Kigar, his step-children: Cindy White, Michael Webb, Sheila Ann Bogelberger (Peter) and Kevin Scott Bowman, his grandchildren: David, Jackie (Brian), Kristopher (Kelsey), Shania (Jordan), Maegan (Kao) and Maegan (Andrew), his great grandchildren: Mercy, Trinity, Jack, Brooklyn, Kolton, Kasen, Lucas, Ella, James Carl and Ethan. Also surviving are his sisters: Ethel Grace Smith and Judy Catron.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Harvey Gene and Polly Jane Allen and his siblings: Dora, Billy, Norwood, Willis and Richard.
Funeral Services for Bertram Chester Allen will be conducted on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Travis Fields and Rev. Larry Howard will be presiding. He will be laid to rest in the Wyatt Cemetery in the Sidell Community.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday after 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
