Shannon Smith, 50, of London, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening January 3, 2024 at Saint Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky. Shannon was born on August 9, 1973 in Manchester, Kentucky.
Shannon was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents Rhennie and Flora Jones.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Smith (Truman) and the following brothers and sisters, Larry Smith (Beverly), Penny Wolfe (Marty), and Angela Smith all of Manchester, Kentucky, and Teresa Neal (Phil) of Somerset Kentucky.
Also surviving are nieces, Ashley Smith, Jessica Smith, Madison Botkins, and nephews, John Botkins, Wesley Smith, and Kris Smith.
Shannon also leaves behind, special friend, Doug Harless.
Shannon is also survived by her beloved basketball coach and dear friends, Donnie and Beverly Gray. Shannon was a member of the Lady Tigerette basketball team from 1988-1992. She was on the state championship team of 1989. She dearly loved basketball and her teammates. She considered basketball a huge part of her life.
Shannon was a true believer in Jesus Christ and longed to meet her dear Savior in Heaven. Shannon will be dearly missed by her family and friends and all those that loved her.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 7 at 6:00 pm. The funeral will be conducted on January 8 at 3:00 pm.
