LONDON, KY - On February 10th, 2025 at approximately 8:01 am, the London Police Department (LPD) responded to S&R Apartments on Barbourville Street in reference to a domestic violence situation involving an assault.
After arriving on scene, officers were able to locate the victim and ensure her safety. During the preliminary investigation the victim advised that the suspect was armed with a handgun and used it during the assault.
Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, Michael Caldwell, age 36, but the subject refused to exit the residence creating a barricaded situation.
Shortly after, the London Police Department contacted the Kentucky State Police (KSP) and requested their Special Response Team (SRT) to assist with the barricaded subject. After several hours, Caldwell exited the residence and was taken into custody.
Caldwell was served on two warrants stemming from the incident.
Michael Caldwell is charged with:
- ASSAULT, 2ND DEGREE - DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
- WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
