Obituary for James Edward Rogers of Annville, Kentucky

Mr. James Edward Rogers, age 75 of Annville, KY, departed this life Saturday June 10th 2023. Jim was born November 1st 1947 in Oneida, KY, a son of the late Charles and Cledith Davidson Rogers.

Jim was a Vietnam Veteran. He received a silver star and a purple heart for his service in the United States Army. He continued to serve his country by enlisting in the United State Navy where he retired as a Chief Petty Officer.

He was a member of the Annville Methodist Church where he served as a lay minister. He was a member of the Oneida Masonic Lodge.

Jim leaves to mourn his passing his wife Charlene, son Sam (Thelma) and grandson Mason, stepsons: Steve McWhorter (Debra) and Nathan McWhorter (Brittany) and his grandchildren: Brody McWhorter, Skylar McWhorter, Dakota McWhorter (Olivia), and Laken Hacker (Jessica), and great grandchildren: Easton McWhorter, Mia Hacker and Noah Hacker.

Jim is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Nina Allen (Buck), Frances Combs (Darrell), Will Rogers (Beverly), Rick Rogers (Billie) and Chuck Rogers (Susie). He also leaves his nephews: David Johnson (Yvette), James Allen (Crystal), Duane Combs, Chris Rogers (Denise); Scott Rogers (Brandi), Larry Rogers (Barbara), Alex Rogers (Christina) and Nick Rogers (Kaitlyn) as well as a host of other family and friends.

Jim Rogers was a friend to many. He loved to talk and tell stories of his world travels and life experiences. His larger than life personality will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, June 14th at Britton Funeral Home, with Darrell Davidson and Reed Brock officiating. Burial will follow at the Maxaline Baker Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, June 13th at Britton Funeral Home.
