Harry Revel age 77, of Greens Crossings, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Baptist Health in Richmond. Bro. Harry, the son of the late Thomas Howard and Elizabeth Dickerson Revel, was born in Madison County on May 30, 1944.
Early in life, he worked for Begley Drug Company. He was saved at the Tates Creek Holiness Church, where he later pastored. He also served as Pastor of Little Texas Community Church and Assistant Pastor of Trinity Pentecostal Church both of Lexington. For the past 21 years, he has served as Pastor of Shiloh Ministries in Richmond. Wherever he was, his heart was to teach the Word of God. For many years he has been the Owner of Harry’s Books where he made many friends throughout the years. He loved to travel with Mary his wife, to Pigeon Forge and also enjoyed spending time with his son and grandson. He performed hundreds of weddings in and around Madison County. He often laughed and would say that he wanted to marry every woman…to another man.
On November 25, 1965 Harry united in marriage to the love of his life Mary Alice Chrisman Revel who survives.
He is also survived by his son; Harry Timothy Revel of Richmond; his grandson: Tyler Isaac Revel; three brothers: John (& Carolyn) Revel, Shirley (& Margie) Revel and James Revel; his sister: Wanda Dixon; his sister -in-law; Lynn Revel; one brother-in-law Jennings Ingram and several nephews and nieces.
Bro. Harry was preceded in death by his brother; Thomas Revel and and one sister: Sarah Mae Ingram.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 PM Monday, January 31 at Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Elliott and Phillip Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM Monday at the funeral home.
