Joe Asher born September 20, 1945 departed this life on Monday January 24, 2022 in Combs, Kentucky being 76-years old. Joe was born in Perry County the son of the late Hughes Asher and the late Delphia Day Asher.
Other than his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Asher; brother, Bobby Day; sisters-In-law, Dorothy Day and Geraldine Gullett & husband Emil; brothers-In-law, Richard, Clayburn, and Ed Johnson; father & mother-In-law, Roy & Dollie Johnson. Joe pastored the Kelly Fork Church of God for 25 plus years, and was a retired coal miner, working with Whitaker Coal and TECO.
Joe Asher leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: son, Gary Asher & Michelle of Lost Creek; daughter, Lisa Caudill & Chuck of Combs, KY; 9 grandchildren, Mike, Chris, Heather, Brittany, Dalton, Jasmine, Ethan, Jackson, and Kiara; 5 great grandchildren, Brody, Amelia, Meridith, Adley, and Bryson; brothers-In-law, Paul Johnson & Joyce, Roy Johnson & Elva, Rick Johnson & Decia, Ronnie Johnson & Beverly; sisters-In-law, Linda Day, Rosa Johnson, and Lorene Johnson; also a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends survive.
Funeral Services for Joe Asher will be conducted on Thursday January 27, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with James Cornett, James Lucus and Roy Johnson officiating. The Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery located at Jeff, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.
