Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Detective Jason Back arrested 4 subjects off Slate Lick Road, approximately 1 mile north of London on Wednesday afternoon November 18, 2015 at approximately 4:25 PM.
The arrests occurred while Detective Back was attempting to arrest a male subject on a felony warrant from Laurel District Court. Detective Back observed the male subject along with three other occupants leave a known drug location in a vehicle, and attempted to stop the vehicle, it then fled the scene but was located nearby.
At that point, 2 of the subjects fled on foot and following a foot chase, both individuals were apprehended.
Arrested was:
The driver Roy Higgins age 38 Of Falls St., London - Charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – methamphetamine; and fleeing or evading police – first-degree – motor vehicle – this subject was observed leaving a known drug location with a subject in the vehicle that was wanted on felony charges. This subject was allegedly in the process of delivering meth to sale to a fifth subject.
Jonathan Segraves age 28 of London, a subject wanted on a felony Laurel County bench warrant of arrest - Charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot; tampering with physical evidence – this subject fled the vehicle on foot and while fleeing, allegedly ingested approximately 1/2 ounce of crystal methamphetamine that he was conspiring with others in the vehicle to deliver an sale to a fifth subject.
Ashley Medley age 28 of Laurel River Church Rd., London - Charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; and hindering prosecution or apprehension – second-degree – this subject knew that a subject in the vehicle had outstanding felony warrants.
Brittany Thompson Sherrill age 28 of Henry Barton Rd., Corbin charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; and fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot. This subject fled the vehicle on foot before being apprehended.
Three subjects were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. Jonathan Segraves was transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment since he allegedly ingested 1/2 ounce of crystal meth. He was later lodged in jail after being released from the hospital.
Assisting on the arrests were Deputy Charlie Johnson, Trooper Jack Riley, and Constable Bobby Smith.
