FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Animal Control Advisory Board to serve for terms expiring Feb. 26, 2017:
- Stephen M. Devary, of Benton, is retired. He represents the Kentucky Houndsman Association. The appointment replaces Christina M. Farthing, whose term has expired.
- Michael G. Cassidy, of Nicholasville, is director of Animal Care & Control and a solid waste coordinator and storm water coordinator for Jessamine County Fiscal Court.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Clifton Richard Smith to the board to serve for a term expiring Feb. 26, 2017.
- Clifton Richard Smith, of Winchester, is a farmer and Clark County magistrate. He represents the Kentucky Association of Counties.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Fred E. Games to the Kentucky Sports Authority to serve for a term expiring Jan. 4, 2017.
- Fred E. Games, of Bowling Green, is a minister at Reformed University Fellowship. He represents members at large. The appointment replaces Louis Stout, who is deceased.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the authority to serve for terms expiring Jan. 4, 2017:
- Kathleen J. DeBoer, of Lexington, is executive director of the American Volleyball Coaches Association at IMG College.
- William E. Pinkston, of Paducah, is an attorney at Denton & Keuler.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Board of Directors of the Purchase of Agricultural Conservation Easement Corp. to serve for terms expiring April 12, 2017:
- Cornelia Bonnie, of Prospect, is a farmer at Stonelea Farm and a volunteer. She represents the 4th Congressional District.
- Teena Halbig, of Louisville, is retired. She represents the 3rd Congressional District.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed William O. Bradley to the State Police Personnel Board to serve for a term expiring June 19, 2017. This order is effective June 20, 2013.
- William O. Bradley, of Richmond, is a retired state police officer.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Kentucky Board of Social Work to serve for terms expiring June 21, 2017. This order is effective June 22, 2013.
- Jay P. Davidson, of Elizabethtown, is an alcohol and drug counselor, a licensed clinical social worker and CEO at The Healing Place. He represents licensed clinical social workers.
- Janice K. James, of Lexington, is a social worker at Hope Center. She represents licensed clinical social workers.
Gov. Beshear has appointed William I. May as chairman of the Capital Development Committee.
- William I. May, of Frankfort, is mayor of the City of Frankfort.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Hemophilia Advisory Committee:
- Vivek R. Sharma, of Louisville, is a physician at the University of Louisville. He represents health care providers. The appointment replaces Vinod V. Balasa, who has resigned. Sharma shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Nov. 30, 2014.
- David Pitt, of Mount Washington, is a self-employed musician, performer and teacher. He represents parents. The appointment replaces Myra J. Loeser, whose term has expired. Pitt shall serve for a term expiring Nov. 30, 2016.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the committee to serve for terms expiring Nov. 30, 2016:
- Ursela M. Lacer, of Louisville, is an administrator at Kentuckiana Hemophilia Foundation. She represents the Kentucky Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation.
- Audria Gail Denker, of Louisville, is a registered nurse at Galen College of Nursing. She represents health care providers.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Mining Board to serve for terms expiring April 10, 2017:
- William M. Chapman, of Lovely, is a field representative for United Mine Workers. He represents labor.
- Gregory Allen Damron, of Pikeville, is owner and manager of Cheyenne Mining Co. He represents management.
- Shannon P. Lusk, of Nicholasville, is an engineer and faculty member at Midway College. She represents citizens at large.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Lynda K. Bracken to the Kentucky Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending March 6, 2016.
- Lynda K. Bracken, of Lexington, represents citizens at large. The appointment replaces Lewis Sargent, who has resigned.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Mary Badami to the Kentucky Board of Licensure of Marriage and Family Therapists to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 15, 2015.
- Mary Badami, of Louisville, is a licensed marriage and family therapist and assistant professor at Louisville Bible College. The appointment replaces Thomas D. Robbins, who has resigned.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Workforce Investment Board to serve for terms expiring May 12, 2017:
- Srini Matam, of Lexington, is general manager at Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing North America. He represents manufacturing. The appointment replaces Thomas O. Zawacki, whose term has expired.
- Sen. Jimmy Higdon, of Lebanon, represents the Kentucky General Assembly.
- Sen. Paul Hornback, of Shelbyville, represents the Kentucky General Assembly.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for terms expiring May 12, 2017:
- Rep. Larry Clark, of Louisville, represents the Kentucky General Assembly.
- Rep. Leslie A. Combs, of Pikeville, represents the Kentucky General Assembly.
- Kelly Nuckols, of Paducah, is CEO and general manager at Jackson Purchase Energy Corporation. He represents energy.
- Hugh A. Haydon, of Louisville, is CEO at Kentucky BioProcessing LLC. He represents bio-tech.
- Heidi S. Margulis, of Louisville, is senior vice president of government relations at Humana. She represents insurance.
- Keith Gannon, of Mount Sterling, is the owner of Boneal Inc. He represents KAM.
- Lara H. Needham, of Louisville, is a professor at Bellarmine University. She represents business at large.
- Daryl W. Smith, of Lexington, is project manager, economic development at LG&E and KU. He represents business at large.
- Thomas Volta, of Louisville, is vice president of human resources at UPS. He represents distribution.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Dina Byers to the Board of Nursing to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2016.
- Dina Byers, of Hardin, is an assistant professor at Murray State University. She represents registered nurses. The appointment replaces Patricia C. Birchfield, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for terms expiring June 30, 2016:
- Gail Wise, of May’s Lick, is a nursing professor at Kentucky Christian University Yancey School of Nursing. She represents registered nurses.
- Sonia Rudolph, of Louisville, is a nurse practitioner at The Little Clinic.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Greta G. Jones as a member of the Kentucky Commission on Women, to serve for a term expiring Jan. 17, 2017.
- Greta G. Jones, of Hopkinsville, is a human services surveyor for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Office of Inspector General.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Michael C. Powers as property valuation administrator for Hancock County.
- Michael C. Powers, of Hawesville, is a real estate broker and former Hancock County magistrate.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Chad Shively as property valuation administrator for Taylor County.
- Chad Shively, of Campbellsville, is a deputy property valuation administrator in the Taylor County PVA office.
