KSP Pursuit Ends in Capture of an Armed Robbery Suspect in Adair Co., KY

COLUMBIA, KY - Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 15 Troopers arrested a Muhlenberg County man early Sunday morning on numerous charges after a vehicle pursuit.

On March 30, 2025, at 2:06 A.M. CST, KSP Post 15 received a call that a Wayne County Sheriff's Office Deputy was pursuing a vehicle suspected of being involved in an armed robbery of a convenience store in Monticello.

The vehicle was a 2008 Ford F-150 traveling west on KY 90 through Clinton County and into Cumberland County, where KSP Post 15 Troopers located the vehicle and continued the pursuit. The vehicle continued north on KY 61 into Adair County, where a tire deflation device was deployed successfully. The vehicle was stopped near the intersection of KY 61 and KY 55 Bypass in Columbia. Upon termination of the vehicle pursuit, the operator exited the vehicle and was taken into custody.

Christopher Eric Guinn, 36, of Central City, was arrested and lodged in the Adair County Detention Center. Mr. Guinn was charged with the following charges:

  • Fleeing or Evading Police - 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
  • Wanton Endangerment - 1st Degree (Police Officer)
  • Receiving Stolen Property
  • DUI - 1st Offense 
  • Terroristic Threatening - 3rd Degree
  • Speeding 26 or More Over Speed Limit
  • No Operator's License
  • And other traffic violations

The case remains under investigation by Trooper Matthew Lee. The Monticello Police Department is in charge of the robbery investigation.
