CROFTON, KY (March 16, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 2 Madisonville was requested by the Christian County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. KSP Detectives arrived on scene and began an investigation into the incident.
The preliminary investigation indicates the Christian Count Sheriff's Department responded to a physical domestic violence complaint on Clark Store Sinking Fork Rd, in Crofton.
Upon law enforcement's arrival, the suspect Patrick J. Martinez, 39, of Crofton Ky began shooting at law enforcement. Deputies returned fire with their agency-issued firearms striking the suspect. Patrick J. Martinez was pronounced deceased at the scene.
KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the Commonwealth as requested by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
