OWINGSVILLE, KY (Saturday, March 1, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 8 in Morehead received a call from Bath County Dispatch around 8:40 p.m. EST requesting assistance with a fatal traffic collision on Hwy 36 near Owingsville.
Bath County Sheriff's Department, Owingsville Police Department, Bath County EMS, along with KSP personnel responded to the scene.
The preliminary investigation determined that Ricky Lee Vice, 18, of Owingsville was operating his Chevrolet Prism on Hwy 36 when he lost control of the vehicle crossing the centerline and striking the guard rail. Mr. Vice was pronounced deceased at the scene by Bath County Coroner.
KSP was assisted on scene by Bath County Sheriff's Department, Owingsville Police Department, Bath County EMS and Bath County Coroner. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Isaiah Bryant.
