CORBIN, KY PEDESTRAIN FATALLY INJURED WHEN STRUCK BY VEHICLE ON INTERSTATE 75 IN LAUREL COUNTY

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s accident reconstructionist Deputy Brad Mink investigated a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic fatality, which occurred Friday morning August 16, 2024 on I-75 in Laurel Co, KY just south of mile marker 29 In the southbound lane.

LSO logo BLACKandGOLD John Root 200The investigating deputy reports that a pedestrian apparently entered the path of a southbound Odyssey van and was struck on the unlit roadway.

The pedestrian received fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Laurel County Coroner’s office. There were no injuries to the occupant of the Odyssey.

The deceased individual was identified as James Zeo age 47 of Corbin, KY.

Assisting at the scene was: West Knox Volunteer Fire Department, London - Laurel Rescue Squad, and Ambulance Inc of Laurel County.

Assisting for law enforcement: Laurel Sheriff’s shift sergeant Brett Reeves, Detective Tommy Houston, and London City Police Lieutenant Ryan Jackson.
