LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler along with Deputy Zach Allen and Deputy Marcus Stigall arrested Fairlon Smith age 69 of Corbin on Thursday evening February 8, 2024 at approximately 5:35 PM.
The arrest occurred off W. Cumberland Gap Pkwy. approximately 9 miles South of London after deputies responded to check the welfare of a male subject apparently lying on the side of the roadway not moving.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies located the subject and conducted an investigation determining that he was under the influence.
Fairlon Smith was charged with:
- Alcohol intoxication in a public place
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
