LONDON, KY - London PD is reporting that: On Sunday, January 14, 2024, at approximately 1:05 A.M., Officer Jeremy Gabbard arrested Kenneth E. Monroe, age, 33 of East Bernstadt, KY.
While on routine patrol, Officer Gabbard observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on S. Laurel Road and performed a traffic stop on the vehicle.
Upon contact with the operator, identified as Kenneth E. Monroe, age, 33 of East Bernstadt, KY, Officer Gabbard noted a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Monroe.
Officer Gabbard had Monroe complete Standard Field Sobriety Tests, and upon completion, determined that the subject was under the influence.
Mr. Monroe was placed under arrest without incident. Officer Gabbard was assisted on scene by Officer Kendric Smith.
Kenneth E. Monroe was charged with:
- Operating a Motor Vehicle U/Influence of Alcohol - 1st Offense, Reckless Driving
- Speeding 26 MPH or Greater, and other minor traffic/equipment violations
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
