LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Nate Bishop along with Deputy Zach Allen arrested Dustin M. Halko age 41 of London on Saturday evening November 25, 2023 at approximately 4:53 PM.
The arrest occurred at St. Joseph Hospital London as a result of an earlier investigation at 2:52 P.M. in the afternoon after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a male subject with a knife threatening people off Airpark Drive, just south of London.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they located a bloody knife and blood on the front step of the residence. They then located a male subject in the back bedroom of a residence with some injuries and had EMS via Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County transport this individual to St. Joseph Hospital London for possible treatment.
Deputies then located another male subject outside the residence with obvious injuries to his hand and learned through investigation that a verbal disagreement along with numerous threats allegedly resulted in Dustin Halko assaulting a male subject hitting him with a bottle to the face (the individual deputies located outside the residence).
Allegedly, as the individual attempted to assault the victim a second time and with a with a knife, the victim held his hand up and became injured by a knife strike. The victim then fled the scene to a neighbor's house.
Deputies then traveled to St. Joseph Hospital London in an attempt to retrieve further information from the male subject they had the ambulance transport, however that individual remained uncooperative and obviously under the influence.
Upon his release from the hospital, Dustin Halko was charged with:
- Assault – second-degree
- Menacing
- Terroristic threatening – third-degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
