WHITLEY CITY, KY (October 30, 2023)- According to the Kentucky State Police (KSP), Post 11, London responded to a single vehicle fatal collision that occurred just after 2:40 PM on Sunday October 29, 2023. The accident occurred on KY 92 and Pleasant Run Church Hill Road in McCreary County.
Through preliminary investigation, officers determined 33-year-old Michael Kidd of Stearns, KY was operating a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Kidd was traveling east bound on KY 92 when his vehicle drove off the right shoulder of the road and struck a guard rail causing him to be ejected.
Mr. Kidd was transported by McCreary County EMS to Big South Fork Hospital in Tennessee where he was pronounced deceased.
An autopsy will be conducted by the Tennessee Medical Examiner’s Office.
KSP Trooper Adam Dodson is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by additional Post 11 personnel, McCreary Co. Sheriff’s Department, McCreary Co. Ambulance Service, McCreary Co. Coroner’s Office, and the Whitley City Fire Department.
