Warrants resulted from: The Bell County, KY Sheriff’s Office, Appalachia Narcotics Investigations, and Operation Unite
BELL COUNTY, KY - The Bell County Sheriff's Department is reporting that on Wednesday night October 11, 2023, Bell County Sheriff Units Sgt. Frank Foster, Deputy Jody Risner, and Deputy Austin Poindexter executed warrants at a Varilla Road residence in Bell County.
Also on the scene were Chaplain Allen Sanders and Chaplain Rick Dorton.
Taken into custody during the operation was: Lee Watts, age 48 of Calvin, KY and Candace Watts age 43 also of Calvin, KY.
Seized during the arrests were:
- Multiple bags of a powdery substance believed to be Heroin
- Multiple pills believed to be Oxycodone
- Multiple distribution bags
- $1,389.00 in cash
- A .380 pistol
Both individuals were arrested and transported to the Bell County Detention Center in Pineville, KY.

- TRAFF IN CONT SUB, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFF - (> OR = 2 GMS FENTANYL)
- TRAFF IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST OFFENSE (HEROIN)
- TRAFF IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST OFFENSE (HEROIN)
- DRUG PARAPHERNALIA - BUY/POSSESS
- TRAFF IN CONT SUB, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFF - (> OR = 10 D.U. DRUG UNSPECIFIED)
Lee Watts was additionally charged with:
- (1) one count of trafficking in controlled substance - 1st offense (Heroin)
- Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Both individuals were lodged in the Bell County Detention Center, no court date is currently listed at the time of this publishing.
