Arrest at crash scene on Heifer Creek Road in Laurel County

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Joey Robinson arrested Jack Ray Crain age 67 of Corbin on Saturday night February 1, 2020 at approximately 10:25 PM.

The arrest occurred on Heifer Creek Road, approximately 13 miles South of London after Deputy Robinson was dispatched to a single vehicle traffic crash there. Upon arrival at the scene Deputy Robinson located a yellow colored Jeep Wrangler apparently involved in the collision and noted an empty beer can inside the vehicle.

Deputy Robinson located the driver laying in the ditch and detected the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from him.  An investigation was conducted on the driver who was determined to be under the influence.

Jack Ray Crain was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
