Driver & passenger arrested on Reynolds Road in Clay County

Clay County, Ky. -  Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that : Clay County Sheriff Deputy Jeremy Gabbard arrested 2 individuals west of Manchester on Sunday February 3, 2019 at approximately 8:00 PM.

Arrested was Cliff Brown age 37 of Hooker Road and Jennifer Hampton age 37 of Corbin.

The arrests occurred on Reynolds Road 5 miles west of Manchester when Deputy Gabbard was patrolling the area he initiated a traffic stop on a silver 4-door car for vehicle infractions.

Upon contact with the driver, Deputy Gabbard could smell a strong odor of Marijuana coming from the car. In plain sight of the Deputy when he made contact with the driver was two glass pipes that had white residue in one and a green leafy substance inside the other.

Deputy Jeremy Gabbard conducted field sobriety test on the driver in which he failed.

Also, arrested at the scene was the passenger Jennifer Hampton. It was determined she was manifestly under the influence, during the search of the passenger Deputy Gabbard located a plastic baggy that contained 4 white pills.

Cliff Brown age 37 was charged with:

  • Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence ALC/DRUGS/ETC. .08 1st Offense
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess
  • Obstruction vision and/or windshield
  • Jennifer Hampton age 37 was charged with:

  • Public Intoxication of Controlled Substance (excludes alcohol)
  • Illegal Possession of Legend Drug
