Deputies arrest 3 while conducting a burglary investigation in Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Taylor McDaniel along with Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards, Deputy Brad Mink, Detective Daniel Grigsby, and Detective Kyle Gray arrested three individuals on Thursday afternoon January 31, 2019 at approximately 2:19 PM.

The arrests occurred off Maplesville School Road approximately 5 miles east of London while deputies were conducting an investigation into a burglary which had occurred on Rocky Mountain Lane approximately 8 miles South of London off Ky. 229.

During the investigation deputies developed information on the whereabouts of possible suspects and reported stolen property. During the investigation three suspects were located one of which attempted to flee from police.

Also deputies located stolen coins, a stolen class ring, and power tools.

In addition, deputies found two of the individuals there who were residents there in possession of a white crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine, glass pipes, scales, marijuana, and plastic bags. Numerous rifles and handguns were also found. The three individuals arrested were identified as:

  • Jo Ann Mchone age 54 of Maplesville School Rd., London charged with recovery of stolen property; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana.
  • Ernest Hammons age 45 of Maplesville School Rd., London charged with fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot: resisting arrest.
  • Clemous Tabor age 50 of Hawk Creek Rd., London charged with recovery of stolen property; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of a controlled substance – third-degree; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; possession of a handgun by a convicted felon; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana.
  • All three individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
