LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff Deputy Bobby Roberts arrested Melanie Wagers age 39 of London on Saturday morning December 14, 2024 at approximately 10:18 AM.
The arrest occurred at Flamingo Trailer Park, approximately 4 miles South of London after Deputy Roberts was dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a complaint of a female subject apparently passed out in a vehicle and had ran into a porch there.
When Deputy Roberts arrived at the scene he located a female subject apparently passed out in a white Hyundai Santa Fe.
Upon awakening the driver Deputy Roberts conducted an investigation determining that the driver was under the influence. This individual stated she had taken meth the night before. In addition, it was determined that this individual was wanted on outstanding warrants.
Melanie Wagers was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
- Possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited
- Failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense
- Two outstanding bench warrants including a Laurel County bench warrant charging failure to appear in court
- A Clay County bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
