Clay County man accused of trafficking within 1000 feet of a school / Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky -  Sheriff John Root along with Major Chuck Johnson and Bailiff Roy ball arrested Donnie B. Belt age 41 of Huckleberry Road, Manchester on Friday morning November 2, 2018 at approximately 11:20 AM.

The arrest occurred off Barbourville Road, approximately 8 miles South of London after the Sheriff’s office received a complaint of a male subject who appeared to be intoxicated at a business near Campground School.

While enroute to the scene updated reports were received that he was creating a disturbance there.

When the Sheriff and deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation, they determined that this individual was under the influence.

In addition, this subject was found in possession of methadone, Suboxone, Xanax, and Marijuana along with US currency. It was further noted that this individual was within 1000 feet of Campground Elementary School.

Donnie Belt was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree; trafficking in a controlled substance – second-degree – first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance – third-degree – first offense; trafficking a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school; possession of marijuana.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
