Domestic Dispute complaint leads to a Criminal Abuse arrest - Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that on July 22nd, 2018, at approximately 6:10 PM, Deputy Taylor McDaniel arrested two individuals at a residence on Swiss Colony Lane, 5 miles west of London. Deputy McDaniel was responding to a complaint of a domestic dispute at the residence.

When Deputy McDaniel arrived, he located the parties in the driveway along with two small children. The female subject was in the driver seat of a vehicle with a 3 year old child unrestrained in the front passenger seat.

Upon further investigation, Deputy McDaniel learned that at some point during the dispute, the 9 month old child had been locked inside the vehicle and the parties had to break the window out of the vehicle to remove the child.

The 9 month old child had small cuts on it's right hand, a bruise on it's forehead, and had some glass on it from the busted window.

In addition, Deputy McDaniel along with Social Services located what appeared to be a cigarette burn on it's right leg, above the ankle.

According to Deputy McDaniel, the female subject admitted to being high when she burned the child. Both the male and female subjects admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine while caring for the children.

Casey Hammack, 39, Swiss Colony Lane, London, was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication, Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree, Criminal Abuse 1st Degree-Child 12 or Under, and Assault 4th Degree.

Michael Robinson, 41, Swiss Colony Lane, London, was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication, Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree, and Assault 4th Degree

The case remains under investigation by Deputy McDaniel along with social services.

Both subjects were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
