LONDON, KY - London Police Chief Jerry Hollon is reporting that Officer Jordan Childers along with LPD’s Special Investigation Drug Interdiction Unit recently arrested Kevin Hampton, age 50, of London, KY.
Officer Childers observed a vehicle operated by Hampton and multiple traffic violations and conducted a traffic stop off the Hal Rogers Parkway in the city limits of London.
After a positive K-9 indication by K-9 Jack, Officer Childers located and seized a large quantity of suspected Methamphetamine behind a child's safety seat.
Kevin Hampton was taken into custody for:
- Trafficking In Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (>or=2 Grams Methamphetamine)
- Minor traffic violations
Officer Childers is the investigating officer and was assisted on scene by Det. Wes Wolfe, Det. Landry Collett, Det. Travis Couch, Det. Josh Morgan, Sgt. John Inman, Sgt. Dylan Messer, Officer Kenneth Proffitt and Officer Kendric Smith
