Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Travis Napier investigated a single vehicle motorcycle traffic fatality which occurred on Tuesday night May 8th, 2018 at approximately 8:08 PM. on American Greeting Card Road, approximately 9 miles south of London.
The investigating deputies report that apparently a Yamaha motorcycle lost control in a curve traveling off the road and hit a fence post reportedly causing the driver's motorcycle helmet to come off, causing critical injuries to the driver.
The driver of the motorcycle was identified as:
William Hathaway age 42 of Louisville Ky – transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to Corbin Healthcare Hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Assisting at the scene of the crash for the Laurel County Sheriff's Office was: Sgt. Brett Reeves, Detective Sgt. Kevin Berry, Deputy Jake Miller, Deputy Taylor McDaniel, Deputy Rick Cloyd.
Also assisting was Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County and West Knox Volunteer Fire Department.
