Drug arrest in London

Sheriff John Root stated drug arrests will be continuing

London, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Grigsby with his K-9 "Edge" along with Deputy Gary Mehler and Sgt. John Inman arrested Steven R. Lawson age 42 of East Bernstadt early Thursday morning February 1, 2018 at approximately 3:04 AM.

The arrest occurred on Hal Rogers Parkway in London during a traffic stop on a black colored Dodge Stratus where this subject was observed making several suspicious movements in the vehicle.

Deputy Grigsby's K-9 was deployed and hit on the vehicle where this subject was sitting. This subject was found in possession of a suspected meth pipe. In addition, this subject was found in possession of a baggie containing suspected meth.

Stephen Lawson was charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; and tampering with physical evidence and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
