Where were you on September 11, 2001? Those of us alive at that time will likely never forget where we were or what we were doing when we heard the first news reports. I recall turning on the television to witness the aftermath of what I thought was a terrible accident after the first plane crashed into the tower.

USDA Extends School Nutrition Waiver at McConnell’s Request

LOUISVILLE, KY  U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) agreed to his request to extend school food waivers through the end of 2020. These waivers eliminate restrictive requirements and increase flexibility for schools and other organizations as they serve meals to children at no cost. Senator McConnell, U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Pat Roberts (R-KS) and 18 other Senators wrote a letter to U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue encouraging him to exercise his emergency authority to provide flexibility to help deliver nutritional meals to those in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

John Inman arrested Mercedes Shilah Hart age 29 of Beatty Avenue, Corbin early Thursday morning September 3, 2020 at approximately 1:26 AM.

LEXINGTON, KY  – ABC 36, Kentucky Out-of-School Alliance, Kentucky 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Thames & Kosmos, and Hooked on Science are partnering to make sure kids have access to hands-on science this school year. In September, Jason Lindsey, aka "Mr. Science," with Hooked on Science, will visit communities, in Kentucky, where kids are struggling due to poverty and the lack of access to the internet, giving away science kits.
