Trade Association donates $100K to Team Western KY Tornado Relief Fund

LEXINGTON, KY (December 14, 2021) – Kentucky Association of Health Plans (KAHP), the trade association representing all carriers offering health coverage in Kentucky, today announced a donation of $100,000 to the Commonwealth’s Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund to assist fellow Kentuckians reeling from the weekend’s deadly tornadoes.

ASHLAND, KY (December 14, 2021) - As substance use and overdose fatalities continue to rise, Addiction Recovery Care (ARC), a leading provider of addiction treatment and recovery services throughout the Commonwealth, is moving forward with plans to bring a comprehensive, new treatment center to Greenup County. ARC has announced that it has signed a letter of intent with Bon Secours Mercy Health for the purchase of a portion of the former Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital campus.

Historic Funding is Coming to Coal Communities – It’s Time to Invest in Energy Savings

Local governments across Eastern Kentucky have been facing budget shortfalls since 2012 because of declines in coal severance tax and population. The COVID-19 crisis caused tax revenues to drop further, while other costs have drastically risen. All of these factors have made it very hard for Eastern Kentucky’s local governments to make ends meet. However, historic new investments are coming to coal communities through recent federal initiatives. If invested wisely, this funding could help local governments keep their budgets in the black for years to come.

RIPLEY, TN – TBI is reporting that a joint investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the indictment of four men on numerous charges including first degree murder.
