Mr. Roger Smith, age 53 of Big Creek departed this life on Friday, August 22, 2014.
He was born on Wednesday, September 25, 1960 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of J. C. and Barbara Quinn Smith. He was a lineman and a member of the Mud Lick Church of the Brethren.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Amie Couch Smith, his children: Roger Dewayne Smith, Ricky Trenton Smith, Joey Brandon Smith and Jackie Renee Smith, 10 grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: Vernon Ray Smith of London, Ricky Curtis Smith of Manchester, J. C. Jr. Smith of London, Glendale Smith of Lancaster, Carla Bradshaw of North Carolina, James Discon of Pennsylvania, Vicky Discon of Pennsylvania, Debbie Keuster of Pennsylvania, Charlene Witt of London, Lola Ann Baker of Berea, and Maggie Cross of Nicholasville.
He is preceded in death by his parents: J. C. and Barbara Smith, his sister: Marlene Smith, his half-sister: Darlene Smith, his half-brother: James Smith, and his step-mother: Edna Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Rominger Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
Funeral Services for Mr. Roger Smith will be conducted on Monday, August 25 at 2 PM at the Mud Lick Church of the Brethren. Rev. Demus Couch and Rev. Jimmy Wayne Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Smith Cemetery in the Martin’s Creek Community.
Visitation will be held on Sunday evening after 6:30 PM at the Mud Lick Church of the Brethren.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Rominger Funeral Home.
