Mary Jane Lawson Perkins was born on April 8th, 1932 to the union of Sherman and Barbara Harris Lawson.
She departed this life on May 31st, 2014 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital at the age of 82 years. She was married to her husband Sylvester Perkins for 51 years. She was a member of the Horse Creek Holiness Church.
Mary Perkins was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Barbara Lawson, her Aunt Mary Jane Harris, who raised her since she was an infant after her mother passed away. Her husband Sylvester Perkins, her grandson Michael Ray Bowling and the following brothers and sisters: Paul J. Lawson, Susan Hatfield, Estill Lawson, Newton Lawson, Cleo Winchester, Kathleen Hacker and Sadie Smith.
She leaves surviving the following children: Carl and wife Hope Perkins of Manchester, IN, Elmer and wife Lannie Perkins, Stacey Perkins, Michael and wife Doretta Perkins, and Drucilla Perkins Aubrey and husband John T. Aubrey all of Manchester, KY.
She also leaves behind one sister Mae Smith and the following grandchildren: Tammy, Kevin, Brian, Brandon, Michelle, Melissa, Jerry, Melinda, Jessica, Mariah, and Andrew. 12 great grandchildren and 1 special great, great grandchild Trevon.
She also leaves behind special friends Mary Jo Fisher and Diane Salyers and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. God surely received a special Angel Saturday morning.
The Funeral Service will be held 2 PM Tuesday June 3rd, 2014 at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Carl Henson and Jay Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in the Perkins Family Cemetery at Manchester. Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel.
