Melvia Karen Haggard Vaughn (Karen and Nanny), age 67, of London, Kentucky, was born in Whitley County, Kentucky on November 30, 1956, and passed away in her home on Monday, April 1, 2024.
Melvia was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Glenna Haggard and by her sister Rebecca Haggard.
She is survived by her aunt, Florence Smith of Fairfield, OH; three sisters, Regina (Jim) Murray of Louisville, Rhonda (Larry) Helton of London, and Lana (Herb) Partin of Corbin.
What she treasured most was her relationship with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her five children, Stephanie (Chris) Pry of Madison, AL, Amy (Simon) Dishman, Melvin (Keresia) Dewayne Haggard, Tony (Milea) Haggard, and Nikki (Chris) McGinnis all of London, KY; sixteen grandchildren, Phillip Pry, Jenna Pry, Seth Pry, Emalee Pry, Brandi Lewis, Khambry Coffey, Ethan Dishman, Huyanna Parsons, Brooklyn Parman, Landon Turner, Leland Turner, Blu Carpenter, Karma Curry, Macie McGinnis, Angelina McGinnis, and Walker Haggard; Fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Teresa Smith.
Visitation for Melvia Vaughn will be from 6-8pm on Thursday April 11, 2024, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street in Corbin, Kentucky, where messages may be written to the family at vankirkgrisellfuneralhome.com
