Carl Parks, age 85 departed this life on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the Lexington Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on Sunday, December 11, 1938 in Jackson County, Kentucky to Dalmon Luther and Sophia Davidson Parks. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, retired from Leeco Mines, the Denny Beckner Co., enjoyed working in his garden and loved time spent with his grandchildren.
“Pappaw” leaves to mourn his passing his son: Anthony Parks and wife Lisa of Manchester, his daughter; Robyn Saylor and husband Sonny of Lexington, his grandchildren: Rebecca Saylor and husband Sam Moher of Lexington, Jonathan Saylor and wife Alexus of Baghdad, Kentucky, Joshua Saylor and wife Lydia of Morehead, Kentucky, Claye Halsey Parks of Corinth, Mississippi, Chloe Beth Parks of Fogertown, Kentucky, Morgan Green and husband Tyler of London, Kentucky and Shelby Hatfield and husband Joshua of Manchester, Kentucky. Also surviving are 7 great grandchildren, his sister: Janice “Jackie” Tyler of Manchester, Kentucky, his brother: Dalmon Franklin Parks and wife Deb of Columbia, Kentucky as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Dalmon Luther and Sophia Parks, his wife: Brenda Hornsby Parks and his siblings: Gordon Parks, Lawrence Dean Parks, Irene Hudson, Zeta Fields and Betty Hacker.
Funeral Services for Carl Parks will be conducted on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11 AM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. William Owens will be presiding. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Brenda in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday evening from 6 PM until 9 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
