LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Zach Allen arrested Olivia Thomas, age 28, of Corbin on Wednesday evening March 19, 2025 at approximately 6:10 PM.
The arrest occurred off Beatty Avenue, approximately 12 miles South of London after Deputy Allen was dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a complaint that a female subject holding a small child was observed in a ditch line there.
When Deputy Allen arrived at the scene he noted Corbin city police were already on scene. Since a child was involved, social services was notified to respond. As Deputy Allen conducted an investigation, he noted that the female individual there appeared very disoriented and stated that she was on some type of drug possibly meth.
Also on scene was Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County who transported the adult individual to Baptist Healthcare Corbin for treatment. As Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County arrived at Baptist Health, Deputy Allen was advised by one of the ambulance crew members that he had been assaulted by the female individual while transporting her to the hospital.
Deputy Allen noted redness on the right side of the ambulance crew member’s face. When Deputy Allen attempted to interview the female subject about the incident she became combative and uncooperative.
Olivia Thomas was charged with:
- Assault – third-degree – EMS is victim
- Endangering the welfare of a minor
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
