Carter Richard Short, age 77 departed this life on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Landmark of Laurel Creek. He was born on Wednesday, April 17, 1946 in Manchester, Kentucky to John and Ollie (Davidson) Short. He was a coal truck driver.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Doshia (Hoskins) Short; his children: Stephanie Peak, Richard Short, Donald Short, John Short and Travis Short; 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 brother: Ted Short.
He is preceded in death by his parents: John and Ollie Short; these brothers and sisters: Estill Short, Raleigh Short, John Short, Howard Short, Frank Short, Lilly Carter, and Lula Short.
Funeral Services for Carter Richard Short will be conducted on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Brown Mission Church. Rev. Henry Lloyd Deaton and Rev. Raleigh Barger will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Coldiron Cemetery in the Laurel Creek Community.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday evening after 6:00 P. M. at the Brown Mission Church.
