Minnie “Penny” Yvonne Dehne, 65, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Sentara General Virginia Beach Hospital. She was born August 28, 1956 in Perry County, KY to the late Coolie Sumner and the late Jessie Jones.
Minnie previously worked as a realtor and specialized in property management. She was an avid reader who enjoyed arts and crafts and spending time with family and friends. She was also devoted to animals and taking care of Casper and Kitty. Minnie was preceded in death by her son, Jimmie Sumner; son Frederick Dehne; brother, French Sumner; brother Joseph Barnett; sister Christie Miller. Minnie’s survivors include: two daughters Nina Liberatore (Joseph) of Pinehurst, NC and Cynthia Dehne (Mart Powell) of Williamsburg, VA; one son Francis Dehne (Mindy) of Suffolk, VA, two sisters, Mildred Colwell of Confluence, KY Nancy Estep of Sassafras, KY; grandchildren, Steven, James Daniel, Colton, Isabella, Darius, Lexi, Skylar, Braxton, Liam, Francis Jr., and Jaxson.
Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea with Bro. George Mullins conducting the service. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 6-9 PM at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com
